Good news for Folkboat racers around the world – our Boomstrut has recently been made “race legal.”

Almost 50 boats based in Lymington and the Solent have been trialling Barton’s Boomstrut for racing, and thanks to this new accreditation, more sailors can now use the hardware to improve their sailing performance in the association’s races. Controlling the boom when reefing or lowering the mainsail is essential, and a swinging boom, especially in heavy winds or large waves, can be very dangerous – so we’re confident sailors can now reduce injuries at sea and enhance their performance on the water.

It’s great to see Barton products receiving this kind of international recognition from organisations like the Folkboat Association. We hope the Boomstrut can increase the standard of racing and continue to keep sailors safe aboard these fantastic boats.
